What is Melative Library?
Melative Library is an easy to use interface to update your Melative Library without needing to login to the Melative Website. Melative Library allows easy access to segment/state/rating updates, adding new titles, recommend titles on your list and allows you to do media microblogging easily on any title. Melative Library is comparible to MyAnimeList clients like MAL Updater.
Melative Library can import your MyAnimeList Anime and Manga list to your Melative Library if you decide you want to use Melative, but don’t want to rebuild your library from scratch. This feature is not meant to be used to sync MAL with Melative as you can lose what you updated on Melative.
Melative Library runs on Mac OS X, Windows* and Linux*
* Note that the Windows and Linux versions do not include Keychain Support and Sparkle Update Framework
What is Melative Anyways?
Melative is MyAnimeList and Twitter combined and it’s all about experiences we have with any type of media. Melative supports and catalogs a wide variety of media, including other Japanese media not covered on MyAnimeList such as light novels, Japanese Drama and visual novels. Microblogging on Melative can be used to share your thoughts you have on a episode you watched, live blogging a show or for casual use.
Melative is also more open. You are not restricted with ratings structures like 9/10 and you can use any rating structure as you like. Melative information on media titles operate like a Wiki, so people can add information that is missing and it can include links to other sources.
Open Sourced – Free as in Freedom
Like with Melative, which is 75% open sourced and runs on Nuclear (which is open sourced), Melative Library is also open sourced. Anyone can fork the project on Github and add their own improvements to the program
Website is powered by WordPress 3.0 and screenshots taken by LittleSnapper.
